Expecting Immanuel [David Knight - 11 am]

Sunday, December 4th, 2011
The name Immanuel was a promise and a prayer – “may God be with us” – the ancient human longing. The birth of Jesus was the first part of God’s answer to that prayer, and his second coming will answer it in fullness. Today we live expectantly between the promise and the finale – but the world does not expect us to live up to our truth-claim. Will we show them that it really is true?  The name Immanuel was a promise and a prayer – “may God be with us” – the ancient human longing.
