Don’t touch my idol! It is easy to place our confidence in people or things other than God, who is the only one who can keep the promise of giving us peace and eternal security. As the church is on the move, it is bound to collide with others’ idols. Keep your head during the riots.

In 5th “C Ireland, St. Patrick pioneered an evangelistic strategy that birthed 700 churches in 28 years and launched a Celtic missions movement that reevangelized Europe from the 6th to the 9th century. Acts 16: Paul & Silas get busted in Corinth for talking about Jesus. In prison, late into the night, worshipping God, an earthquake sets them free. We live in a world of closed doors and shackled feet, and God is asking us the question, “Do you want Me to shake it up?”

Chapter 13 & 14 are Paul’s first Missionary Journey. The Good News came to us so that we could bring it to others. When we do, we communicate the gospel and that creates opposition. Persevere! The results will come if we do. There’s a pattern; expect it and never stop being the church on the move.
